I was going to discount this picture, Edward, but then I read your description. What a loss to Reading its demolition would have been. I think it's vital that history, not necessarily Edwardian but any history, must be retained so future generations can enjoy the buildings and look at them too.
The image is unexceptional I admit, but I think it is useful as a record shot. Reading Borough Council tried its hardest to destroy this piece of heritage. Sadly, this is not unusual policy for local councils in England who value profit over heritage and local amenities.
