A picture of Rye

For our time is a very shadow that passeth away (Wisdom II.V) - reads the inscription on the magnificent Church clock at St. Mary's, in Rye, East Sussex. The two Quarter Boys that strike the clock every quarter hour are infact fibre-glass replicas of the originals that now reside inside the church.

And it's also the oldest church turret clock in England built in 1560.

Great photo. I agree with the inscription, too, but why does time have to be in such a hurry?!

Great capture & focal point. Oops! The OT book of Wisdom was removed from the King James Bible. Surprised the inscription was not done away with in the 17th C.
