Stamford

St. Martin's Church was founded by 1146, and possibly earlier. By 1473, the chancel was described as 'ruinous', and the church was entirely rebuilt during the second half of the 15th century; possibly c.1482. It is the only medieval church outside the town walls to survive.

Comment by Edward Lever(17th March 2014)

Nicely taken scene, but like so many shots of old buildings, it is spoiled by the presence of parked cars. It is depressing how the car has made our streets so ugly. If only someone could invent a 'zapper' of some sort to remove them.
