Beautiful Badgers, Suffolk

I have waited all my life to see a live badger and then two come along, a truly magical moment.

Superb shot, but may I be so bold as to ask what lens you used for this shot, Karen? The EXIF data shows the focal length of the lens as 800 mm, making an effective focal length of 1280 mm when used with a crop-sensor camera like the 600D. This would be an almighty whopper of a lens if the figure is correct. I know that the EXIF data often gets mangled on PoE, so I suspect the actual focal length was much less than the indicated figure. Therefore I would be very grateful if you could tell me the actual focal length, if possible, to satisfy my curiousity about this excellent shot of yours.

I was walking my dog just a few weeks ago along a farm drive, near dusk, with wheat fields the one side of the drive, and Rape seed crop the other. Suddenly a badger stepped out from the Rape side, got half way across the drive, stopped to look at me, then carried on running across and vanished into the wheat. He was probably 100 feet away so I didn't get a great look at him but good enough. The field is now bare, so I doubt he'd come across that way while it's like that. It is the only time I have seen a live one and been 100% certain. The only other time was as a young child from a bus window, I thought I saw a family of them walking across a field but I could never be 100% certain that is what I saw. This is an amazing shot you have taken and must have been a very special moment indeed. Well done.
