Attractively situated a few miles north of the Border town of Berwick, Coldingham Loch is one of the most popular fishing lochs in this area of wonderful rugged coastal scenery. There is much that is scenic inland with sparkling little tributaries flowing on a sparsely populated landscape.
There is sea fishing from Eyemouth, Burnmouth and St.Abbs, with Coldingham Loch offering good sport to fishermen in search of Rainbows and Brown Trout.
Apart from fishing the superb setting of the loch gives visitors an enjoyable setting for relaxing walks and views over breathtaking scenery.
Coldingham Loch lies between St.Abbs Head and Fast Castle Head, a stretch of approximately 10 miles of stunning sandstone cliffs and rocks. In places these reach to a height of over 150 meters, with the whole area being backed by grassland crossed by streams and other open waters. This landscape is particularly important as a breeding ground for large numbers of seabirds.
