My friend lives in Great Barford Jen, it's about 25 mins drive for me, ....traffic conditions permitted of course, ive driven through it often on my way to Cambridge, it's a straight run from my house! It's on the A421 just north of Bedford. Pretty little village, here's a link if you're interested:

Thank you Lyn Smile It looks like a lovely place...I don't think I'll get to visit it this time around...not driving can be a pain in the u-no-what sometimes.

I'm all reved up this morning...now I've found some family that are real and not "maybe's" of my imagination!

Thanks Peter.

The guy whose done all the hard work has put together a web site that is an absolute mine of information. It must have taken him a few years to collate all the info...and I will be eternally grateful 'cos it means I can concentrate on another branch of the family now Smile

Well I went "home" and saw where the Fairey's/Fary's have lived for nearly 300 years and found that the original Fairey in Preston was "relocated" there from GREAT BARFORD Laughing in 1713!!!!

Hi Jen! Long time no see! I wonder if it would be worth looking at the graveyard/church there.
