hi lynda, i've tried all these i even went and did some research @ warwick,alas i didn't have the time to check WILLIAM ELP  born around 1740 in ryton on dunsmore warwick, what i could do with is some body local to look him up at warwick records office for me but cheers for your trouble an good luck with your searches bob

hello every one, paul is correct in the name variation it took me years to find my g/father, my father told me he was born in stone staffs and that he wasn't sure if is name was HELPS or PHELPS, what a shock when i found is name was WILLIAM EARPS. so from WILLIAM ELPin 1740 to THOMAS HELPS in 1805 to JOHN EARP in 1839 to WILLIAM EARPS in1872 isn't genealogy fantastic thanks to all who's been looking. bob

It was indeed Bob---Chester Goode.  And Butch Cassidy was a Geordie, with his parents comming from a small town outside Newcastle.
