I've been recording these, can't wait to start watching them. Anyone been watching it? It's on at 9PM every Wednesday

"Alan Titchmarsh makes an epic journey across the length and breadth of the country to explore the huge diversity of wildlife in The Nature Of Britain. The eight-part series, which can be seen this October on BBC One, is the first comprehensive portrait of the links between Britain's plants, animals and the places where we live for over 20 years and a first for the channel. Using the very latest in filming technology, such as ultra-high speed cameras and the heli-gimbal camera mount which gives rock-steady aerial shots, The Nature Of Britain brings many TV exclusives to our screens. These include killer whales hunting seals off Shetland, the underwater courtship behaviour of the pike, a honey buzzard raiding wasps' nests and otters in the River Tyne right in the centre of Newcastle. Yes, I have been watching this and consider it to be one of the most brilliant portrayals of our English countryside.  Alan Titchmarsh is superb, he gives you a genuine feel for the land and makes everything so easy to understand.

Hello!  I'm here in the US (near Washington, DC) and am a huge Ground Force/Alan Titchmarsh fan.  Anyone have a clue as to if/when The Nature of Britain might be coming to America (via BBC America perhaps)?  Also, does anyone know anything about a possible release date/airing of a documentary about Berkeley Castle?  My friends and I were interviewed there in September 2007 while touring the castle, and the interviewer told us they were filming a show about the castle.

I was back and forth to England this past year on medical emergencies, a stressful time made better by watching THE most wonderful nature programs about Britain. Nature's Calendar, Coast, one with Bill Oddie, and a few others. Sadly I left before The Nature of Britain started. I would happily buy all of these programs on DVD (and watch them every day).

The beauty of Britain cannot be matched.

I found the companion book to The Nature of Britain on Amazon.com but sadly no DVDs yet. I did find Coast on DVD and have an English portable DVD player so I can buy those and watch them

Well where's the photograph ladies...for the avatar of course, everybody's doing it for POE! Afraid I can't help with your questions right now Barabara but I will give it some thought because there must be a way of finding out.

And Terri, I agree entirely!

I see The Nature of Britain is now out on a 3 CD DVD set. I've got it in my wish list, and will buy it really soon.

I've decided on a universal DVD player, that should solve the problem of playing English DVD's over here.

I'm now watching DVD number one of Nature of Britain   . Fantastic!. I'm glad I'm coming over in a week, as this just makes my heart ache with homesickness.

I also got the Coast DVD's.
