If a person who sells fish is a fishmonger in england then a person who sells candy is a candymonger? What are people called doing different jobs?

The owner of a sweet shop? Lol. The person who makes sweets, is a confectioner. When my brain wakes up, I will think of a few more.

Q. Odd-job-man Lol.  Sorry Kelly, had to do that lol!

sells meat = butcher

sells groceries = grocer

sells alch/beer = Off license

sells fruit & veg = Greengrocer

sells candy (toffee, sweets etc.) = Sweet shop

sells bread/cakes = Confectioner or Baker

sells newspapers/stationary = Newsagent, Paper shop

sells  pots and pans, tools etc = ironmonger

lots lots more, but the modern supermarket/superstore etc in almost every town and city sell just about everything under the same roof.

Hi Rick,to sell drink and spirits over here you need a licence ie pubs, superstores etc. but stores selling only wines, spirits and beers to take home also need to be licened, however you cant sit in the store as you would in a bar to drink it so I assume the name means lisensed to sell liquor to take 'off' the premises.
