I cannot find either the town or the county on any maps. Does anyone have any idea where this is now located? According to one map, it would appear that Rutland wasabsorbed by Lincolnshire.
Any help would be appreciated.

I'm happy that Lyn and POE have been able to fill you in on Rutland. The only thing I know about Rutland is they have a great nature reserve, and every year hold a bird fair which I have been to once. |

I have been able to find Morcott and Rutland on another site. This site looks like it holds much for me to explore as most of my relys come from England, from Brighton to Morcott and several from the London area. We, my wife and I, were able to visit Billingshurst where my grandmother was born and Slinfold where she spent much of her life before emigrating to Canada at age 17. I was able to take a number of pictures of Slinfold and of Arundel where we stayed, and a number of other places, that I would be happy to share on this site. Thanks again!

I am glad that you may have already found what you were looking for as Chris and Sarah who own the site, and Lyn have already put up some links for you....BUT, as I was saying just a couple of days ago in this forum, had you have you put the name Morcott into the Search Box on the top left of every page on POE you will find what you are looking for unless of course it doesn't exist! Why not give it a go for another town to see how you get on? Good luck and enjoy the site. And Sue, they produce some mighty fine ale! |
