Old Mac.Donald's farm, should read Old Mac.Donalds' farm.............the way they put it Old Mac.Donald is farm, utter nonsense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Andy!! Methinks you are wrong. Andy Edwards' farm is correct. Mac Donald has no s on the end, so Mac Donald's farm is correct as the apostrophe implies ownership.....the farm belongs to mac Donald I hope we don't confuse our Saudi friend, Yasser!! |

In my defence, it's a while since I left school LOL! I thought the apostrophe that implies ownership was always placed after the last letter, eg. Martin's coming home (Martin is coming home) Martins' television is broken...or Andy Edwards is coming home (no use of the apostrophe because it ends in an 's') Andy Edwards' television is broken (as you said, this implies ownership and still requires the apostrophe) but Martin doesn't end in 's' as Mac. Donald doesn't, so it makes no sense to put the apostrophe where you said Sue, because Mac.Donald's can only ever mean Mac.Donald is. Sorry Sue. |
