I haven't read The Three Faces of Eve ( probably the only one who hasn't?) but mentioning Eve did bring back fond memories of another young lady I once knew, Eva Bin Haad, who came over studying English too, often via the local natives. I did my best to help her with her conjugations after a few drinks, when they thence made more sense to her.

Yasser--Your ( no apostrophe variant) English isn't too bad at all. Indeed, another poster on this forum seems to be learning his English from you; clearly not a grammar school boy, by the looks of it.

Speaking of local natives, I see there's a small island in the Pacific where all the natives speak with a Gloucester accent, which must be confusing to their other local natives on nearby islands trying to figure out what they're all saying.

Thanks Paul for your addition, your words has pushed me up Smile thank you very much once again Paul.Wink

I, on the other hand................................................................ Well to start with I would make Scarborough a city Yasser (or whatever your name is), then I would make petrol 20p a litre and diesel 18p a litre, no, scrap that....I'd get rid of these pathetic measurements. I'd make petrol £1.00 a GALLON, remember them? I'd make diesel 90p a gallon (it was always cheaper than petrol, basically because the refining is easier and CHEAPER Mr. Brown).  I'd lock up anyone found possessing a knife outside of a kitchen, I'd form a proper police force where officers call you sir  or madam instead of 'mate', 'chap' or 'love', I'd abolish 'safety cameras' (speed cameras for Gods' sake), because the figures show they make no difference to accident rates. Then, anyone who enters this country illegally will be dealt with by 'customs' (try bringing in more wine than you're allowed and see what happens) before being shipped back to where they came from. America has a much better stance on immigrants than us I reckon, the green card works!! Then I would get out of the EU quicker than you can say misshapen fruit, and finally I would tax the pants off the bloody politicians that dodge paying it, that goes for all parties. My world will be a better world, log onto www.andyshouldbeking.com. Thanks so much.
