Whether or not you have a ghost of a chance of getting any, is another matter. |

I have to admit that one of them has a reputation for trouble. After being closed for some time, it re-opened promising a 'family atmosphere' to all who visited. On opening night the Police had to be called (the real ones, not Sting and Co.) because a fight that started in the bar, spilled out into the street. There was more trouble there recently, involving two local youths with deckchairs on their heads demanding drinks with the threat that if refused they'd put the windows out! If I made this story up, people would say 'unbelievable', and rightly so, but I guarantee it really did happen, ending up in the local Magistrates Court! Residents are now drawing up a petition to ask the Borough Council to close it permanently. I'm not saying which of the Victoria's it is, but I will tell you this - there's not the ghost of a chance you'd ever find me in there, although some might find the proximity of a burial site an advantage, whereas the other similarly named pub has a reputation for good beer as well as being trouble free! |
