This is no problem as I have already changed my Canadian dollars to pouns but I am wondering if this will be the way it is all thru the Cotswolds. Do restaurants take credit cards or will I need more cash? |

When I visited England in 2004 and 2007, I found that many restaurants and other places accepted credit card payments but most B&B's at that time preferred cash. In 2007 we stayed in a hotel which accepted credit cards (in 2004, we were in a B&B in London and paid cash). My usual practice is to use my bank check card (which can be used as a debit or credit card) at the ATM to get cash, my first withdrawal being when I arrive at Heathrow. I have found that the exchange rates at British ATMs are better than exchanging the money before I leave the US. Perhaps it's a different story in Canada. |

Make large purchases with your card so that if theres a problem you can claim a refund from your credit card company. watch for pickpockets in tourist areas as the 'open' border policy with Europe as atracted some 'undesirables'. My son married a Canadian and lives in Vancover by the way lol . Mike |
