Michael,

Marmite is actually made from spent brewers yeast, I think your probably thinking of Bovril which as far as I know is beef extract.

                     Regards.

I love Marmite, but the high salt content leaves me in pain. Still, I eat it occasionally.

Krissy, to answer your questions from a few pages back, yes, you can get Green & Black's chocolate over here. If I can get it in this tiny little rural town, I'm sure you can get it in your bigger towns. I bet now you've heard the name, you'll see them. They are not cheap though. They are also organic, so that ups the price.

Jason, I like the blackcurrant ones.

And I too love a fried egg in a bun, top it with a good dollop of HP sauce, and it's to die for.

I like baked beans on toast...both high carb content so I don't eat them any more. Well, maybe once a year. LOL!

Debbie,

Pleased to meet you also, right hear we go........Chooky Eggs & Marmite Soldiers, basically a soft-boiled egg (around 3 minutes) with a slice of bread, buttered, spread with Marmite and cut into wide strips (the soldiers), which are used to dunk into the egg (a kiddies favourite) and as I'm a big kid, mine also.

  http://www.eggrecipes.co.uk/egg/recipes/Boiled_Eggs_with_Marmite_Soldiers.asp

Ploughman's lunch.........Cheese and/or ham with a big chunk of unsliced bread, pickle (but not your sort of pickle) or chutney, pickled onion, tomato, lettuce, an apple and butter (for the bread), and preferably a pint of real ale.
