The highest mountain in England is Scafell Pike in The Lake District, at 3,210 feet (978 metres). It is climbed by thousands of people every year and is part of the increasingly popular National Three Peaks Challenge - A challenge that involves participants climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England, and Wales, all within 24 hours.
