We were on the way home to Essex from a holiday in Cornwall. I now live in Australia and haven't any relatives left who would remember it but it has intrigued me as I would love to re-visit it again one day. From my childhood memory,I may be wrong, there were tall skeletons found buried in it when it was discovered, and the original floor tiles were visible. Does anyone know of this place? |

A number of churches have been lost to shifting sands, especially in Cornwall--some have been reclaimed and some left to ruin. I initially thought it might be St. Piran's Oratory near Perranporth (Cornwall), but at the time you would have seen it, the ruins were covered by a hideous concrete structure that has since been removed and the ruin re-buried in the sand for its protection. Does Connerton (Cornwall) ring a bell (no pun intended!)? |
