1. The Queen does not own a passport, despite making numerous official visits overseas. As you point out, because the British passport is issued in the name of the Sovereign, it is not necessary for The Queen herself to have one.

2  The Queen finally got her driving licence back on Friday, almost 60 years after she last saw it.
The World War II document, signed just 'Elizabeth' is one of the exhibits at the Adjutant General's Corps Museum in Peninsula Barracks, Winchester.

It was given to the then 18-year-old Princess in 1945 when she was a member of the Auxiliary Territorial Service.

Nice try Shaun; I'll give you 2 out of 3 though I didn't point anything out. I was hoping someone else might. Smile

And if this really is too easy , then---who taught her to drive and which driving school did they work for?

As the sovereign, the Queen doesn't have a passport.

As Princess Elizabeth, she learnt to drive in 1945 and passed her test and got her licence. When she became Queen in 1953, the licence was effectively redundant now, as the Sovereign isn't required to have a licence to drive in Britain.  She was taught be a friend of mine who was an army driving instructor and perhaps because she was a woman, she was tasked with teaching the then Princess how to drive.

There are 8 state limousines in the Royal motor fleet---currently using 2 Bentley Arnage limousines made for her, and 3 Rolls-Royce's. Being state vehicles, none of these 5 cars carries a number plate.

Thanks so much for the link Paul - I can't believe how many functions the queen attends, and all the travelling she does.  Not sure I could cope with it all and I am quite a bit younger than she is.  Amazing.
