Does the Queen have a driving licence? What is the registration numbers of her Rolls-Royce or Bentley limousines? Edited by: Paul Hilton at:28th July 2010 21:39 |

As you point out, because the British passport is issued in the name of the Sovereign, it is not necessary for The Queen herself to have one. 2 The Queen finally got her driving licence back on Friday, almost 60 years after she last saw it. 3 i dont know lol

I was hoping someone else might. And if this really is too easy , then---who taught her to drive and which driving school did they work for? |

As Princess Elizabeth, she learnt to drive in 1945 and passed her test and got her licence. When she became Queen in 1953, the licence was effectively redundant now, as the Sovereign isn't required to have a licence to drive in Britain. She was taught be a friend of mine who was an army driving instructor and perhaps because she was a woman, she was tasked with teaching the then Princess how to drive. There are 8 state limousines in the Royal motor fleet---currently using 2 Bentley Arnage limousines made for her, and 3 Rolls-Royce's. Being state vehicles, none of these 5 cars carries a number plate. |

Not sure I could cope with it all and I am quite a bit younger than she is. Amazing. |
