That was an interesting link Mike, wish I was closer and could take advantage of it.  I hope some POE members will be able to attend some of the functions and share their experiences/photos with the rest of us.

lol--cathyml my how you've changed!  Must say your new profile is lovely, my dear!

Yes, wish I were closer so I could at least watch and listen to the festivities.  Can't walk, you know.  Want to go to Lourdes.  Am trying to see if the Marist Fathers in Boston, Mass., USA will take me on one of their pilgrimages at little or no cost.  Makes me feel like a leech, but we're just not "in the chips" right now, but my husband Lee is working night & Day trying to get money for us.; most of it to pay bills with incurred by the horrible economy we have had in this country.  It's picking up now.

Glad all you guys have been interested in the chatting going on and not bored to tears.  Isn't Mike Gerrard (Lancashirelove) Brilliant??

Hi Linda-Mary, it's lovely to see you here.  I do hope your wish will come true and you get to Lourdes.  It's also good to here you say the economy is picking up.  Hopefully this will ease the stress for so many people.

Yes, Mike is brilliant and full of interesting information.

Btw - My current (and last) profile pics are paintings I have done.  I put them on when Beth was asking about what I have painted.  Think it's time for another one now you mention it. Lol.  I feel the need for a facelift, LOL

Oh, you are good at taking kidding about the profile!  I've seen your other photo and know you are young and beautiful.

You certainly can paint!  I have been fortunate to know personally 4 great artists in my life.  Their works belonged in galleries.  We even bought the colourwashes for a teenaged girl (our neighbor) when we lived in Kingman, Ariz. for 4 yrs. '77-'81.  She was not of great intelligence, but that did not matter.  Her watercolours of birdlife were awesome, yet she made her living as a day laborer. (How much do you charge for a commission about 9" x 14"?  I would, if possible, like to buy one-time rights to a Graham Rains photo of cows and have it turned into a painting.  I'm quite sentimental about cows as I grew up next to a dairy farm surrounding our home down one side and across the back of our property.  We let the very back of our property go to the wild and out back there lived a mallard duck (whom I named Mr. Mallard--you know like the character on 'NCIS') and then there was a mated couple of ring-necked pheasants out there and to complete the little group, a great big ol' jackrabbit with the biggest ears any jackrabbit ever had.

Let me know how much the commission would be and contact Mr. Rains about his fee for a one-time use of his photo for a small painting.

OOPS!

My goodness, what has happened to the thread?  Is this a long stretch of the imagination? LOL.

Linda-Mary I am very flattered that you would like me to do a commission for you - I would love to and will

email you about it.

Did you want me to contact Mr Rains, or will you?  I am not exactly sure which picture you are referring to.
