It may be too late to plan for 2009 unless we do it in the fall. We need to decide "where" and "when". We will book hotels through POE. If all agree, I can book transportation through the people who drive for me when I do my tours. They are out of Wincanton. My personal e-mail address is uktours4u@volcano.net. Write to me, tell me your ideas of the best area to stay, what you want to see etc. I will keep all of the ideas then we will vote on it and plan from there. I'd also like to hear from people who can help with T-shirts, mugs etc. Looking forward to hearing from all of you. If you live in the US and want to call me with your ideas, the number is (209) 296-0957. (PST) Let's get moving on it!!

There are so many things to see and do in England (North, Midlands, Southern, Cornwall etc.) that it's going to be real hard to please everyone so give it some thought. If you're going to England (especially for the first time), what do you want to see (other than POE members)? We definately need to plan a banquet and night of introduction where we can all socialize, get to know each other and purchase the T-shirts and other stuff. Perhaps those of you in England can help me with that once a destination has been established. My personal opinion would be somewhere in the Wiltshire area. There's lots to see and it's a good central point for visiting other places. (Stonehenge, Avebury, New Forest, Bath, Cheddar Gorge etc.) Of course, by staying there, we're missing everything up North. (Bamburgh, Hadrians Wall and hundreds of others) See what I mean, it's going to be tough. Let's get the ideas flowing.

It was $1.70 this morning. I could only hope that it would stay like that. Airline prices really suck at the moment and I don't see that getting much better for a while but there are always consolidators and group bookings. Would you like to be the first to give me ideas? Can I count on you being there?

So I can't say that I will be there. It's a lovely thought, and I would like to go sometime, but at the moment can't say when. |
