Paul, that's too bad about your company dis-allowing your holiday. Here most companies, including mine, have a use it or lose it policy; where you take your vacation during the year or you lose it at year's end.

Diana---as mine does too, then after not allowing holidays through the year, then wonder why at the end of it, you have so many days still outstanding?  Public holidays don't count as they don't exist. It's just their way of trying not to comply with the law by hook or by crook.

Yes Rick - I got everything sorted early as I am working on and up to Christmas Eve as I have so many accounts to do! They clients never want to talk about them though when you ring them before Christmas! Terry's had an enforced 3 week Christmas holiday because they have no work but I'm hoping the break gets him better! The boys are so excited I'll be surprised if the decorations survive!!! For me Christmas is for them anyway and I am so lucky to have them and although I am working at least I am at home so I don't have to miss them!

Diana, sorry to hear about your problems - hope it doesn't spoil Christmas for you.

Im now done.

Why is it that the last job of the year is a nightmare, i've been decorating an house and the owner was following me round the house all day and pointing things out, i should have finished for dinner time but finished at 4.30 instead.

As the boss says though, The customer is always right

Oh! Surprised That is sneaky of them; and I am sure they manage to just skate through any legal loop-holes they can find.

There are plenty of companies like that here as well. And then they can't understand why their employees don't feel any sense of loyalty to them.
