Just why is your mortgage with Nationwide?

Wouldn't call it lucky Ron, we had our problems too, both of us being made redundant at one time or another, and having 2 young children also during that period. We just knew how to budget, went without if we couldn't afford it,  which is what's wrong with a lot of people nowadays, they want everything yesterday and cant wait till tomorrow. I worked for a building company in the mid 70's and was made redundant as the building services crashed big time,  a lot of house building just stopped......... so, like many more, have already lived through all this before, but if you're careful you can come out the other end ok, we did!
