Yeah, I'm inclined to agree with your thoughts Robert but I think it's at the top ie 'Politics' only! I think we can, and do consider it a special relationship with the people of America, even if they did kick us out 350 years ago! They dumped our precious tea in Boston Harbour so no wonder they don't know how to make a decent cuppa! Had we stayed we may well have shown them how to protect their buildings etc, rather than they knock them down at the drop of a hat.

Perhaps I need to add a couple of he, he, he's and a LOL or so because I happen to appreciate America and the American people, and would not wish to upset a single one.......Ah what? Shucks, I can take it so now I sit back and wait for the flak!

This rather sickens me. I don't doubt that the man was probably tortured. Isn't that one of the reasons Obama wanted that camp closed?  The bottom line is, American, British, or otherwise, most all governments are guilty of torturing their POWS to one degree or the other.

Heck, it's a known fact that the US conducted "secret" experiments on their own soldiers during Vietnam. If they can justify treating their own people in such a despicable way, do you really think they'll stop with the alleged enemy?

I believe you are absolutely correct in your assessment Diana, and to think I expected some flak! I guess I tried to put a lighthearted edge on it but the reality is it has been there for us all to see.
