Its alright for MP's caught 'stealing' from the public purse to anounce they will be standing down at the next election (2010) but what is being done about charging them with theft. To intentionaly make a false claim (large or small) from the public purse is indeed theft and should result in a prosecution, even custodial. It would happen to the 'man/women in the street' if he or she did the same. Or are we saying its one law for one and another for Mp's, are they to be seen to be above the law? |
