COMPASSION. When someone has done you or a loved one, some 'wrong' we all want justice, but let our maker but the judge as he surely is. Many will question the Scottish paliments decision to release the 'Lockerbie Bomber' on compassionate grounds due to the fact he is suffering from terminal cancer. He will be returned to his family to see out his last days, perhaps by Gods ultimate punishment. As a non practicing Christian its my compassion for life and freedom that allows me to forgive (but not forget) those that preach and carry out acts of evil in the name of their god. That makes me a better person. I ask all those who suffered and are still suffering from the evil of others to raise above them and show the true meaning of life on earth. There is no glory in taking the life of another, just the selfish satisfaction of knowing that you can. now face your GOD! I think the Scotish Parliment, whilst under great pressure from all sides has been brave in its decision and I think made the correct one. |

At first I too thought she should continue to live out her life sentence, but then her husband (whom she married while incarcerated) told us how much it costs the tax payer to not only keep her in prison, but to pay for her medical expenses, and I thought that maybe she should be out in the open, and pay for it herself. |

I believe there was evidence to support that as the flight was late that flight was destined to go down over the atlantic, never to be seen again. It was noted that many senaters recently wrote to the Scotish government objecting strongly to this mans release on compasionate grounds, it should also be noted that at least one of those senators appeared active in supporting and financing terrorism by bomb and bullet during the Irish troubles prior to 9/11. by demostrating 'compassion' against powerful home oposition, could, and I only say 'could' pave the way to 'talking' with any compassionate leaders in the east. We cant save our friends and relations who have died but we may be able to save others from the same fate. |
