I accessed an old memory the other day involving the trendy Art-Deco department store BIBA that flourished in Kensington High Street, London, during the late 1960's and the 1970's. I remember the interior as being very interesting--a lot of black and gold--and the Food Hall was spectacular, rivaling the Harrod's Food Court. I used to stop in there on my frequent journeys to London from Winchester in 1974 to pick up tea and food (especially the bread) to take back with me.

Does anyone else remember BIBA?

Someone's going to be in a lot of trouble soon, Ron.

Whilst aware of Biba, I never went to their store/s. But, in the late 60s in the Civil Service, I did used to wear various colourful shirts with Paisley ties with double-breasted blazer to work. The older staff there seemd to pretend not to notice, but the younger ladies did Smile.
