Just posted on the Intro thread about a book I picked up from the library - The Anglo files - by Sarah Lyall- I thought a quote from her intro is quite fitting here - "Suffice it to say, Sarah Lyall's England, now awash in money, is no longer George Orwell's land of old maids cycling to Holy Communion through the morning mist".

Awash  with money Dee? That was before our old mate Gordon got his hands on it!

And the cycling will be Gordon on his bike asking for forgiveness at the local Church.

We're ok to say we're English?  i am!!  my daughter gets taught about old England at school!! in fact i had to help make a concentric castle the other week!

I love England ...and i love the old buildings the countryside etc ...but English people are pretty much all mongrels!!  we have been invaded lots of times ..and taken up other traditions and carried on!!  so what does been English mean?? been adaptable to change??
