Here in the Rockies we have had major rains in only 3 days. In our area of Genesse, we have had almost 9 inches of rain, some areas have had almost 15 inches .Now , this morning, in our area, major rock slides have closed a major hwy. west bound and will be closed most of the day.We expect more rain well into the first of next week, BBC World News showed a scene of a rescue from a car not to far from where we live,,,,

Hi Rick, I was watching the footage on the news last night, and wondering how you were fairing.

Hope the mud slides don't effect you.

Hang on in there you guys 'n' gals.

We know what it's like Rick and have suffered similarly here in the UK, although I haven't yet seen the damage to which you refer in the States.

Stay safe mate!

Thank you for the good thoughts, as I type, the rain continues...

Right now, I am thinking of Howards "bit of fluff"(from "Last Of The Summer Wine") saying so many times,,,,"It never rains, but it pours"!

Hello all.

The rain is still falling here, not as much, yet, the damage has been done. Here in Genesee, we have had over 12 inches of rain in 4 days. Some areas have had up to 18 inches in a few days. We drove over to some places in our little town of Evergreen( 5 min. down the road) and so many places are under water, streets have caved in to the rivers, it is such a mess and so sad. There are over 1000 people un accounted for in the hardest hit areas..The water has split homes in two and some are gone forever, more than 1000 homes are destroyed....The sun is supposed to come out starting Tuesday...

I hope the sun will shine sooner than later.
