Oh Lorraine, how can I have a senior moment? Look at my avatar, I'm only a kid. He he he. Good luck with your Op, hope you recover quickly. Come back on here as soon as you can, it's the best medicine there is.

Your butterfly pics are excellent Peter! There's a butterfly park near Bedford and I keep promising myself to visit there soon.

Hi Lyn,

I have never been there but I think it would be nice to visit. I have seen the butterfly farm at Earnley though. That is very good for some close up photography. Peter? Earnley would be right up your street with your interest and obvious talent for this type of picture

Thanks Lyn and Ray. I find captive butterflies the easiest of subjects to capture. Just make sure you give your camera time to warm up and for the steam to go from your lense. Walk slowly up to any resting butterfly and take the photo. I never use flash for the photos, too artificial. Set the ISO to about 400, and the aperture as small as you can with a shutter speed as fast as you can, in case they move suddenly. Here endeth the first lesson. He he he.

Hi Peter Have you tried the buttferly farm at Stratford On Avon, it also houses a collection of worker ants and reptiles, its well worth a visit.
