Thanks for finding that, Wolf. Before he died, I often got e-mails from people asking if I was really John Peel. Sadly, I'm not as well-off as he was - but at least I'm not dead yet! I do think we might have been related, because I look a lot like him - especially in the picture you posted a link to. |

Richard Dreyfuss? No, I think you're the first person to think I look like him, Poe. I still can't get over this voice recognition software I'm using. I didn't know the correct spelling of Richard Dreyfuss - but the software did! Amazing! I was using it to write something this morning and the dog barked. Her bark came out on screen as 'Friend! Friend!' - which I thought was rather nice. |

There's no way they'd give a license to a building like that over here. The town I'm from in PA had mine subsidence as well, and some buildings actually collapsed. The jr. high school I went to had a huge crater open up on the street in front of it, and they then closed the school. Pity, because it was a great building. And all that happened a good 40 years after the mines closed.

The Crooked House is a weird place - it's like an optical illusion when you are in there - you feel like you are walking up when you are walking down! I was on my way there to take some photos for the site a few weeks ago but there was a fire in the woods, the fire engine was there and it's only a single track road. I will have to go there soon! Thanks for the lovely comments by the way Ruth! |

Must be interesting. They had (have?) a similar project here in Arizona, down around Tucson called Biosphere. I'll have to look it up to see if it's still in operation.
