Welcome to Britain 2008! - said a forum member.

What on earth is this country coming to? I just cannot believe that Police have been asked to investigate this as a complaint, and furthermore logged they say 'as an incident of a racist nature'. My opinion? Its about time we got back to the 'good old days' when you could say what you like without causing offence, and if by chance somebody did take exception to it, you would get a quick kick up the backside and all would be forgotten.

Just another example of taxpayers money going down the drain and no doubt lots of it, spent in defence of a kids puppet! For goodness sake, whatever next? So now the pic submitted by a member makes more sense Basil Brush is innocent - so are our kids, hands off! UNVELIEVABLE!

Hi Lyn

Perhaps we could get the 'Muppets' to rule on 'Basil Brush'! I am just so sick of this nonsense with those who want to make a name for themselves by being referred to as PC! That acronym alone should be banned...UNBELIEVABLE!

I remember Basil Brush, quite a likeable little fox as I recall, always good for a laugh. It's only a matter of time before laughing will be either banned, taxed or a hangable offence. There's got to be an answer to all this bovine waste, unfortunately my time machine isn't finished yet so I can't go back to the days when the interferring namby pambies were still eating meat and drinking water out of a tap. Too many weak people have too much power these days, the yes men can't say no or even maybe. We all ought to get out of this country before the chain is pulled, but hard as I try I can't help loving the place. My dad fought in the war for our 'freedom', he's probably turning in his grave as I type. It's such a pity that we are of less importance than our permanent visitors....legal and illegal, whatever that means these days, our rights are now our wrongs. So Basil Brush and Basil Fawlty, be careful what you say, even if you are just a repeat! Boom boom.

I completely agree with whats being said in this thread, the whole thing is complete madness.

The phrase "It's a free country" no longer applies I'm afraid and will soon be long forgotten. We now live in a country where everything we do and say seems to be scrutinized by the government or other authority, and each day there seems to be something new in the news that makes me wonder if I've gone mad / or I'm the only one left who's sane! Yell

Basil Brush has my full support!

I am not racist, I love and respect people of all religions and races. But the other year when I was coming home through Heathrow, I was questioned for 20 long minutes about why I was coming into England, how long I was going to stay, where I was going, what I was planning to do etc. by a gentleman in a turban who barely spoke recognisable English. I was quite perturbed.

Ron....it was me..... the 'forum member'....come on!....I'm 'Sue G'!!!

I agree too with all that's been said and I bet we represent the 'silent majority' throughout the country. No one asked us if we wanted 'diversity' whatever that means....and if I went to live in another country I would be expected, rightly, to live by their rules and customs. Here it is the other way round. Another thing...the BBC has apologised. PC infests the corporation from top to bottom and they are terrified of Islam..they frequently air programmes that mock Christianity but would never dream of mocking Muhammad for fear of a fatwah or mass demonstrations outside the window.

And Sue, why should you have to qualify your words by first declaring that you aren't racist? I think that disliking someone simply because they have more or less darkness to their skin than you is something that must be taught...children don't see a difference because there is no difference in any meaningful way... but this constant harping on race is so destructive because there is only one race and that is the human  race....but we all have different customs and often mindsets and that is where the problems start. I see no hope for this country unless there is a revolution which is highly unlikely as the British have become so cowed and the famous tolerance has now become a noose around our necks. All I can suggest is that we make individual stands if we ever find ourselves being beaten with the PC stick......you never know....acorn to Oak tree.

For your information, and PC, we must no longer call ourselvs British. We are the ethnic minority.

I am definately not racist, I have many coloured friends. My Grand daughter is married to a mixed race guy. We get on very well, he often comes round for a chat with me. But, and this is a big but, where I live I am one of the minority. I'm British, Welsh really, but still British
