Has anyone got any of the cards from packs of tea? Or do you remember the sets?

When I was but a lad, I used to look forward to Mum buying the groceries because a) it's always a good idea to eat and b) I collected the cards from Brooke Bond tea. I'm sure it was Brooke Bond, if I'm wrong, I apologise and hope someone will correct me. I remember it was tea leaves, not blooming bags, and it came in a green rectangular box about the same size as a light bulb box. I recall collecting 'Transport through the ages', trees, cars and so many more that I have forgotten the name of. This would have been in the late sixties, very early seventies. If anyone has any, either cards or albums, I'd love to know, maybe you could take some pictures, it would bring back some memories to see them. Like a lot of things I used to have, they have disappeared in time, more's the pity!  Please let me know, Andy.

Isn't it strange how things like that go missing? I just wish I could remember what I (or my mum) did with them. I always have a look at the local car boot sale, hoping one day to find some of them again.

Over here it was Bushells and Liptons...and as well as the cards you could collect tokens to redeem against certain household items. I remember my mum getting a teapot....and I collected the cards much to the disgust of my brothersWink

Lyn...if I could work out how to go on E-bay without getting tins and tins of Spam filling my computer I would take a look. Great idea though!

Jen....it sounds like very much the same sort of thing. We have Liptons here too , as I'm sure you're aware. Getting a teapot with tokens from packs of tea makes sense, I wonder if I could get another van free with all the diesel I buy?!!?

Andy, my brother has books with cards in them. I can recall transport, batman and robin, and others which I can't quite remember but wild flowers might have been one of them. Where the cards were collected from I don't know!

Yes Ron,  I have various cigarette cards and the albums you stuck them in of the Royal Family in the 1930s, King George VI and the Queen Mother mostly, off the top of my head.
