NORFOLK  Contains the greatest concentration of Medieval Churches in THE WORLD. Of 1000 originally built, 659 remain.   Not only are these beautiful internationally important buildings, but they contain hundreds of medieval works of art and craftmanshp. Painted screens, fresco's and intricate carved woodwork and roofs. They punctuate the relatively flat Norfolk landscape with characteristic spireless towers, often round and somtimes Saxon in origin, and are the visual and spirituall focus of their villages.

( Info. taken from Church leaflet)

Of the 170 Round Tower Churches which survive more or less intact in Great Britain, three quarters of them are in Norfolk
