Yep, they're pigs feet. My stepdad used to boil them up and feed them to himself and our pet dog. They'd stink the house out. Puts a lump in my throat just thinking about it. Frown

Brawn is the meat of the head, also called Head Cheese.

Historically the cleaned (all organs removed) head was simmered to produce a gelatin  containing any incidental meat which came off the head.

My mum and dad grew up on pigs trotters (feet). They used to suck on them to pass the time and abate the hunger.

We covered tongue in another thread, right?

Pigs feet are good if both the pigs feet and the people eating them are pickled.  Laughing

When we were over there we ordered full English breakfast and I knew that black pudding wasn't going to be chocolate LOL, but I tried it and it wans't half bad.  What about white pudding?  They serve both black pudding and white pudding with the full Irish breakfast.

Here you go Peter:

According to the article, they have it in Cornwall too.  And yes, it's black pudding without the blood, so it's probably better, although with a little less iron.  LOL  And the Irish are distant cousins of the Welsh you know.
