That's awful news. I never watch the news these days so I only knew because we were collecting my son from his friends and it came on the tele. I know it's a rare occurance - a plane crash but because so many people are involved it always seems so tragic.

I have been out all morning, so this is the first time I've heard the news.

And just in defence of God, he can't stop everything bad happening, it's not part of the plan. Hard to understand though I know.

It is a terrible tragedy and my heart goes out to the families of those who have lost their lives. The only consolation is knowing that accidents like this are, thankfully, very rare.

It is always tragic and sad to read/hear about such incidents and feel for the people involved and their families.  Krissy---your sister has absolutely nothing to be nervous about. Just look forward to her holiday and the great time she'll have in Spain.

An elderly friend is flying for the first time soon, and spent ages with an email to him yesterday going through the whole flight for him so he wouldn't be nervous of ordinary things that are applicable to aircraft and flying. What I thought about afterwards now seems disrespectful and inappropriate to mention, so I won't, suffice to say some wouldn't believe it anyway.

What a wonderful thing you did Paul. So many people disregard the elderly these days. I love them dearly. We can learn so much from them and their experiences through life.

Did you tell him not to flush the toilet while sitting on it Paul? Nasty things can happen.

Catherine--my friend is 86 and flying off to a wedding soon from Norwich to the West Country. I flew his flight on the flight sim with various internal/external screenshots for him to help him see various things pointed out. He's very excited about his new experience to come. Peter, that was one of his areas of concern, now that you mention it.
