Cass Elliott,Wolf, in the Mamas and the Papas. "Words of love, so soft and tender won't win a girl's heart anymore."

I can't believe all you guys don't know Paul Rodgers!  Here's another of his that you might be more familiar with:

He's singing with Queen in this video, but the song is from when he was in a BRITISH band called Free, back around 1970.

PS. He's touring the UK right now with Queen.  If I lived there, I'd go to see them.

Sorry, Ruth, but although I absolutely loved Queen in the days of the late great Freddie M, I was never a Free fan. Like a lot of other bands of theri day, I found them to be run of the mill, although I'll willingly admit they did release one or two tracks that I found at least listenable.

Must be old age making me crotchety I reckon!  LOL!

It wasn't just that Freddie was a great singer with a fantastic vocal range.  He was more than that - much more.  When he stood on stage (not that he ever stood still for long) the stage was his and he defied anyone to take it from him.  Great performers lie him come along so rarely, that we really were privelidged to have been entertained by him. I agrre with Lyn G.  The golden age of Queen is over and done with: there is quite simply nobody who could ever succesfully take Freddies place in the line-up - now or ever!

Yes, I agree with you all.  There was nobody like Freddie - he was the BEST!

I only put up the last video because I knew you'd all know the song.

My hubby offered to buy me that Freddie doll in the window, Wolf.  But due to room in the luggage and how expensive he was, I politely declined.  lol

He was a really great talent, and that's aphrase tnhat we use far too often to describe people who do not deserve the epithet.
