WHO SANG ?

I been in the right place
But it must have been the wrong time
I'd of said the right thing
But I must have used the wrong line
I been in the right trip
But I must have used the wrong car
My head was in a bad place
And I'm wondering what it's good for

This is a oldie from Dr. John.

An easy one !

Who sang

I really can't stay - Baby it's cold outside
I've got to go away - Baby it's cold outside
This evening has been - Been hoping that you'd drop in
So very nice - I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice
My mother will start to worry - Beautiful, what's your hurry
My father will be pacing the floor - Listen to the fireplace roar
So really I'd better scurry - Beautiful, please don't hurry
well Maybe just a half a drink more - Put some music on while I pour

I know it wasn't Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra, but ...one nite when they were playing Las Vegas, they did an improv and sang that song to each other and the audience went wild!  Needless to say, I don't know who sang it First, but they sure had fun singing it that nite.

I would have loved to have seen that Beth . There are so many great versions of the song why pick one ! Personally I love the versions done by Margaret Whitting And Johnny Mercer and Tom Jones And Cerys Matthews .

Did anybody know the song won an Oscar ?
