Seriously Lyn, they even moaned that the police and rescue services ''over reacted'' to the situation. Hmmm.

mmmm that does sound very ungrateful, they would of been glad of them if they had really been in trouble, it does also seem bad that they went ahead with it knowing the weather was so bad just for the thrill of it. I don't know, some people.

Yes I agree with you both, I feel a bit ignorant about it all but I just haven't seen the news.

Thank God everybody's accounted for, thanks to Emergency Services.  Some people who consider themselves "adventureous" don't realize the power of mother nature and how they often put others in harms way when they need to be rescued.  We had an highway patrol officer die here last week trying to rescue a hiker who was hiking where no sane person would hike. We also have what's known as the "stupid motorist law."  When our dry washes fill up during a storm over here, it's against the law to try to drive thru them.  But there are a lot of boneheads who still think they can make it.  If you attempt to drive thru a flooded wash and get stuck, emergency services will, of course, come and rescue you, but you will be charged to reimburse the services and pay a $2,000 fine as well.  And if they have to use a helicopter that will be pretty pricey, not to mention that you get an arrest record as well.

OMG! Is that for real Paul? (Hi! Paul!)

I have to agree with Andy and Ruth, it's stupid and a waste of time for emergency services.
