Guy Fawkes or Bonfire night is not celebrated in Oz, but they have a 'Cracker Night' in June to celebrate the Queens birthday.

I have not liked fireworks since my cousin had a cracker put in his pocket as a kid. When he tried to remove it he had two fingers blown off.

My dogs hate fireworks and I always feel sorry for animals on cracker night, and think it's a thoughtless selfish human failing. ( my own opinion)

I must confess, the older I get, the more I hate to see the kind of money spent on these big firework events (July 4th and such) go up in smoke. I just can't help but think of how that money could be put to better use.

I do have fond memories of out little family firework nights thuogh.

I know what you mean about animals Wolf, as our family dog while growing up was always kept safely in the house, but it still didn't relieve his discomfort.
