It's 10:15 PM and they're already started outside my house. I'm usually dead to the world by midnight on New Year's eve, but always know when it's 12 because of the neighborhood kids. The funny thing is, if we stay up to ring in the New Year, television always has the countdown with the big ball drop in Times Square in New York City - and we get to see it - tape delayed 2 hours.
