Hello Diana,

I have just looked at your memorial to Merlin and was touched by what you wrote. You obviously loved that cat so much. Well, I hope you find some peace and comfort in the lasting memorial, and  the lovely pictures too.

Ray.

Another lovely memorial Diana. Merlin looks great on the pictures. I'm sure he is still around.

Time to inject some funny I reckon, so the time to worry is when your precious cat turns up and ask's 'Hey what's up doc?'

This is a poem I wrote years ago and I thought I'd share it with the rest of the pet lovers here!

The Little Shadow Upon My Bed

What is this little shadow upon my bed
Pushing and nudging me out of my sleep?
I look over my shoulder and what do I see?
A fuzzy black thing stretched full length.

I gently nudge with my toe
This shadow I am not sure I know.
There is no response which leads me to believe
It must me my imagination...this thing I perceive.

Again I doze reassured by my conclusion
When once again I feel this intrusion.
What ever could it be...
This thing that persist in waking me?

Determined to confront this nemesis of sleep
I twist and turn till I am staring at its feet!
Clearly the wrong end for confrontation,
I flip and flop till I am laying on my side
And now I am looking it straight in the eye!

Why! It's Merlin who's stolen my berth!
Will I let him sleep undisturbed...
Or shall I shove him off and reclaim instead?
Then I look at that nose which twitches so...
And I kiss the little shadow head to toe.
