I kept a journal/diary for each year for about 10 years from when I was about 11. I still have them all. I haven't read them for ages but I'm glad I did them because alot of my memories disappeared out of my head when I had encephalitis in my 20's. I don't have time to keep one now - I wish I did though.

I keep a journal for work. It serves two purposes; one for when I'm due an annual appraisal and second for when I have to correct someone else when recalling a past conversation.

The only personal journal I keep is a sailing journal. It's actually a log of events, navigational entries, repairs, life-cycle replacement parts, etc.

Keeping personal journals or diaries can get you into a lot of trouble.

Cheers,

Bob

A dream journal. Some of my dreams are very good but definitely not something I would write down. And then some are so stupid I can't figure where they came from. I have the occasional bad dream where I wake up with my heart beating in my mouth, don't want to write them down either.

Still interesting idea.

When I was a child I experienced night terrors, which continued until my early twenties. I swear that the reason the went away is because I wrote them down and created stories out of them.  I thought I had lost those years ago, but low and behold an old friend whom I haven't seen in 14 years contacted me a few weeks ago and sent me a box of photos etc of things that belonged to me. The stories were in there!

LOL, no Diana.  Just bad typing.  It should have been good place to dump it.  This fancy rubber keyboard requires a little harder keystroke I think.
