I am going to post these pictures in behalf of Rick (aka Rhett). These are pictures taken by a friend of his who lives in Montana. Have I got that right Rick?

How would you like to wake up to find these magnificent creatures on your lawn?!!!

These pictures our astounding.

What a wonderful sight to see, though I'm sure the garden was decimated by the time they moved on.

My guess would be elk.  I agree with you, Diana, about them lounging on the front lawn.  How funny!  Aren't they beautiful creatures!

I guess they decided to hang about as they'd probably heard the local Elk Lodge was holding a meeting nearby. Club Secretary Moose Johnson did comment their membership application had been sympathetically considered, but actually being and Elk tended to go against them, though their occupation of landscape gardeners did seem to hold a bit of veracity that was hard to dismiss.
