WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Police arrested a man near the U.S. Capitol on Tuesday after he drove up to one of the building's barricades with a rifle in his vehicle and told officers that he had a delivery for President Obama, a Senate spokesman said. Threats against Obama have led to arrests in previous cases. In one, federal prosecutors concluded that three people arrested with drugs and weapons in a suburban Denver, Colorado, motel posed a "true threat" to Obama during the Democratic National Convention. In the second, a Florida man was charged with threatening bodily harm against the then-candidate in August. He has pleaded not guilty. |

I am sure there were attempts on Bush too but you won't hear of them because he is not black! |

Some people can only see that he is black (technically, he's half white but that doesn't matter to them). So sad to me that people are still judged by many based entirely on their skin color, etc. |

It's also sad to think that many voted for him just because he's black. In fact, I also voted for him, but I did so because I believed he is the best candidate for the job; regardless of his ethnicity. Edited by: Diana Sinclair at:11th February 2009 17:14 |

Also he reminds me of Kennedy - he seems to have a fresh and hopeful outlook. Hopefully he and his family will be kept safe by the security. |
