I like both hiking and picture taking when I have the time, but I've also done greenware(un baked in the kiln)  and (already put through the kiln) coldware ceramics in my day, also took cake decorating classes, feather flower arrangments,(sold one of them for what would be about $350 US dollars one time in today's prices)  the local "gym" for daily excerise, (shake it up baby. twist and shout)..and growing herbs...fresh made mint tea folks?  Plant identification in natural terrain, Going to  Native american craft shows and I like rock and gem shows also. Yes, an bit of jewerly making. Have done an lot of little kids sewing in my day as well. (three kid's wardrobes and various other assorted pieces) Last but not least..thrift store shopping...bargain hunting. My ceramics included the edging around mirrors...18 ct. gold tissue leaf over small partridges...chest game board pieces.  I'd also someday like to try out stain glass windows..or panels. I've also crotched myself an queen sized blanket one time, not at all the pretty pictures of an this tree someone sent to me recently,  with "bands" of color crochted pieces sewed around it's limbs, looks like one "funky" tree with the conituous bands of bright orange, pink, green, violet, yellow, muted red...I didn't know  trees got "cold"...sure is wild looking.  I like fishing also, from the banks of "till a lllila lew" whereever. It usually requires an bit of help by someone also...not EVERY day, but once in an while. Home decorating.

Richard,...try this one... go north from Boise on Idaho 21, (forks off and comes back).. then come back to Boise and head for the Salmon river on Id 55 and you will have ran into 17 hot springs areas. go over the Salmon River and to Lake Coeur d'Alene also, an new marina amid a $60 million dollar resort renovation (1995) to the area with huge board walk. North shore is where the resort complex is situated. Hop and an skip to Spokane, Washington also. Garnet mines are said in this area also on the east side of Hell's Canyon. It's an semi-arid  area in some places, esp during summer... book..Hot Springs and Hot Pools of the Northwest by Majorie Gersh-Young. Covers, Alaska, Canada, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washinton, Wyoming, and states east of the Rockies. I have been wanting for YEARS to take this little trip. Some of these are "remote"..watch for rattlesnakes..and other areas are developed. From this book it says of the Salmon river they have rafting excrusions from one pool to the next on it's course...it looks primitive..if it hasn't changed by now. I doubt they are as primitive now as this book shows them though. Then come back to England an enjoy the pretty green scenery even more so. He-man stuff Richard, take Scarlet along with you and let her taste "camping"...and living on the wild side of nature....these excursions they ususally cook your food for you though...chuck wagon style...with gourmet chefs at that!  An person could fly into Boise and rent an car also. Everyone here either goes to Baby Hot springs ro Brittenbush in Oregon, they are just now getting around to developing these areas like the www.bonneviileresort.com area. About an 30 minute drive up the Columbia Rvier from the Portland airport..adjacent to it is an Golf course and International resort off the Hot springs..and the area where Kerry stayed when he was running for President. Hood river does "wind surfing" in the summer on the columbia River also. Skiing on Mt. Hood...it's all within an short drivie away from Portland.  has Cathy arrived in her trip to England as of yet? ...anyone heard from her?
