As to answering my own question...as far as rekindling an old flame, no. While it may have been difficult going through the break up at the time, I have always found that I learned something important from the experience and it was indeed time to move on. I don't know if things are "meant to be" or even if all things happen for a reason, but I do believe that we can "choose" to learn something from every experience and become a better person for it.
