I would only want to know three things:

1. Is he married?
2. Is he a sex offender?
3. Does he have a criminal record of any kind?

Beyond that it would feel like an invasion of his privacy and I would not want to know.

Really Krissy?!!!  Surprised  I wouldn't want to know everything. I would like to enjoy the process of getting to know him naturally.  It would feel deceitful to me to ask him the name of his parents and where he went to school if I already knew the answer.  (BTW - I am not saying that it is deceitful, only that I would feel that way to me.) All I am concerned about is, is he safe to date?

I can just imagine the scenario at trhe airport

'Hello James, I am Gertrude, your internet friend. So nice to see you!  shall we go and have a cup of coffee? Oh, and would you mind strapping these electrodes to your head and hands, oh...did you have a nice flight over?'

Hmmm...well now you've got a point! LOL!

No, seriously though, I think that if he is a liar it will come out in other ways soon enough. There are tale-tale signs that indicate when someone is being deceitful.
