Why such a sensation? I would like to think that the world is sick of the Barbie dolls and are just happy to embrace a 'real' woman. Like it or not, Susan (great name) represents the majority of women walking the earth. Not a size 0, not got the latest fashion hair style, not wearing designer clothes, not slept with 100 A lister.

In the article it says  eccentric demeanour I saw nothing of the sort. Tell me if her little dance at the beginning was any more bizarre than Tom Cruise jumping all over Oprah's couch.

I hope she makes lots of money as she shares her talent with us. I'll be in line when that CD is released.

She probably will Sue, at least for the moment she is an "gimmick" to the world of entertainment. How long it lasts is something else. If she's lucky maybe she can get into her own daily talk show like Oprah or Ellen Degenerenes. You know something, there are 4 billion people in the world, if everyone gave me 10 cents out of their pocket, it would last me an lifetime most likely. I don't know what one-10th of 4 billion dollars would be, but I betcha I could make an pretty good go of living off it. Ten cents don't sound like much when you think about it. From little things ..great things are accomplished. Reminds me of the man that turned in his pennies recently and walked away with an brand new top of the line automobile from about some 50 years of saving them.

You're absolutely right Sue.  That sickening little display of Tom Cruise's was accepted because he's one of the rich and beautiful of the world, as thought only the rich and beautiful have the right to feel their feelings and express them as they wish.

I too shall eagerly await Susan (I think it's a great name too!Wink) Boyles first CD and will be right behind you to purchase a copy!

Thanks for that Ruth, absolutely wonderful, but if her council put that disc together 10 years ago I am surprised this is the first we have heard of her, Someone sure slipped up there for her not to have been discovered, I do hope she wins.

Me, too, Peggy.  She has an amazing talent.  Regardless of whether or not she wins the show, I'm sure she'll still get a well-deserved recording contract.  I wonder if she has any original material.

I bet his company is certainly talking to her about it.  I can still see in my mind's eye the change of facial expression on him and the other judges from when she first walked out to when she started to sing - night and day.  If this had been an average, ordinary looking MAN, I bet he wouldn't have been received with such disdain based on his looks.  Susan Boyle, YOU GO GIRL!!!

Well, it appears that Susan Boyle has had a bit of a makeover, but honestly I have to say "well done".  She looks very nice, and it wasn't overdone.
