Awwww shucks Debbie. I appreciate your comments. I know I'm a good person, I just hate what I see in the mirror. I have had issues about myself since I was very young. I was a border line annorexic back in the 1980's.  What saved me was when I found out I was having my son. I suddenly decided I had to look after the being inside me. I'm always on a diet still though! I wish, more than wining the lottery, that I could like myself. I'd love top spend one day not worrying about how I look, or how many calories are in what I am about to eat!

This is probably too much information, but, like I have said before, I'm just honest and open!

That's funny Babs...just yesterday while driving home from the train station I thought, I am tired of trying to "fix" myself. What if I just acted like I am okay just the way I am? It was a liberating thought. Now, trying to implement it is another story. LOL.

It's such a habit to think that my life is what it is because there is something wrong with me, and that everything will be okay if I can just fix me.  But what if there is nothing wrong with me? What if we are all just at different evolutionary stages of our mental, emotional, and spiritual growth?

That doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with trying to improve oneself or ones lot in life, but hounding yourself because you think you are not good enough is counter productive and robs you of the joy of just being alive.

So true Diana!  I think the media has a HUGE roll in this. They constantly shove down our throats what a woman should look like!! And it's ususally skinny, botox filled, fashion plate and most women do not look like this!!

I am just now learning to be happy with how I look. It's far from perfect...so far but it's mine and I have to love it, so I may as well!!! LOL!!

Well said, ladies!  Someone told me one time that God made each of us exactly the way He wanted us to be, so who am I to argue?  I see so much beauty when I look at the avatars here on this website.  For myself, I have the love of a man (finally!) who loves me just the way I am - overweight (just ask my doctor!), graying hair, lines and wrinkles - if I never changed a thing, he would still love the me that is inside this less than perfect body.  How awesome is that!

But, okay, my nicest physical feature?  My blue eyes and my lips and my strawberry blonde haircolor (discounting the gray).

Indeed you are lucky Barbara, and I don't doubt that it is well deserved. And isn't that what we all want really? To be truly known by another and accepted and loved by that one despite our imperfections.

I loathe my legs, so, everytime I'm 'on one' about them, I remember all them people in wheelchairs who would dearly love their legs to work. That usually stops me. I'm then grateful that I have the use of mine and have walked up mountains and am able to get about.
